How many pictures will we receive?
A.You will typically receive 50–75+ edited images per hour, depending on the type of session. Usually more because I am a chronic overshooter, LOL. I would always rather give you too many favorites than leave a great photo behind!
How should we dress for our session?
A.I always recommend coordinating without matching exactly. Neutrals, earth tones and softer colors photograph beautifully, and I suggest avoiding anything with really loud patterns or large logos.
Most importantly, wear something you feel good in! You can always send me photos of your outfits beforehand and I’m happy to help.
What’s the best time to have a session with a newborn?
A.Unlike traditional posed newborn photography, I love photographing babies when they are starting to become a little more alert and interactive. Around 2–3 months is one of my favorite times because we may even get some of those first sweet smiles!
That being said, every family is different. If you want to capture those brand-new newborn days instead, reach out and we can talk about the timing that makes the most sense for you.
We don’t feel very confident in front of the camera, is that ok?
A.Absolutely, feeling nervous in front of the camera is completely normal. I am great at telling Dad jokes to break the ice and get some laughter going!
Do you pose us, or are your sessions more candid?
A.A little bit of both! I’ll give you plenty of direction and prompts throughout your session, but I also love the in-between moments that happen naturally. My goal is for your photos to feel like you, not like you spent the entire session holding a pose.
What if my kids don’t cooperate?
A.Please do not stress about this! Kids are kids, and I never expect them to sit perfectly and smile at the camera for an entire session.
We’ll let them move, play, explore and take breaks when they need them. Some of my favorite photos happen when we stop trying to get the "perfect" photo and let kids be themselves.
What time of day should we schedule our session?
A.For outdoor sessions, I typically recommend scheduling around golden hour, which is shortly after sunrise or before sunset. The exact timing changes throughout the year, so once we choose your date and location, I’ll help determine the best start time for that beautiful, soft light.
Where will our session take place?
A.If you already have a location that is meaningful to you, I would love to hear about it! If not, I’m happy to recommend locations based on the look and feel you want for your photos.
Do you travel?
A.Yes! Travel within 25 miles of Chelmsford, MA is included for most full sessions. If you have somewhere farther away in mind, I’m happy to travel for an additional fee based on the location. If you have a spot you love, just ask!
*Weddings are excluded from needing to adhere to the travel radius.
What happens if it rains?
A.New England weather likes to keep us on our toes! I usually wait until we are close enough to the session to have a reliable forecast before making any decisions.
If the weather truly isn't going to cooperate, we'll work together to reschedule. Clouds don't scare me, though, so don't worry if the forecast isn't perfectly sunny!
Can we bring our dog?
A.YES! Pets are part of the family too, and I am always happy to include them. Just let me know ahead of time so we can make sure the location we choose is pet-friendly.
How do we officially book?
A.Your date is officially reserved once your signed contract and 25% retainer are received. Once those are complete, you're on my calendar!
When will we receive our photos?
A.Your final gallery will be professionally edited in my signature style and delivered through an online gallery where you can easily view, download and share your images.
Normal galleries are usually delivered between 2-6 weeks depending on the season.
Wedding galleries are delivered within 8-12 weeks depending on the season.
Will we receive the RAW or unedited photos?
A.I do not deliver RAW or unedited images. Editing is a big part of what I do with your photos. Your gallery will include the best images from your session, individually edited and ready for you to download, share and print.
Can we print our photos?
A.Absolutely! Your gallery includes a print release, so you are welcome to print your photos wherever you'd like. Your online gallery will also remain available for one year, so you'll have plenty of time to download and order your favorites.
How far in advance should we book?
A.The earlier the better, especially for fall family sessions and weddings! My calendar can fill quickly during busier times of year (particularly Fall).
If you have a particular date in mind, reach out even if you're not sure whether it's too early or too late. I'm always happy to check!
Do you help with the wedding-day timeline?
A.Absolutely. Photography plays a big part in how your wedding-day timeline comes together, so I'm happy to help make sure we have enough time for everything you want photographed without making your day feel like one long photoshoot.
